"I am pleased to provide this recommendation for RaptorGraphics regarding computer modeling services performed in an arbitration proceeding involving one of my clients in San Diego, California. I represented the Zurich Insurance Company and its insured, Nabors Drilling U.S.A., Inc. in a breach of contract action against CalEnergy Operating Company. Nabors was drilling a well for CalEnergy for the production of geothermal steam pursuant to a written contract. A breach occurred in the well, which caused substantial damage to Nabors’ drilling rig. Nabors was partially indemnified for the loss by its property insurer and also incurred uninsured losses, which were included in the claim against CalEnergy. The matter was submitted to binding arbitration pursuant to the parties written contract.
The main issues in the arbitration proceeding were the cause of the damages to Nabors’ rig and the amount of damage sustained to the drilling rig. RaptorGraphics was instrumental in modeling the drilling rig, in detail, and at our request. RaptorGraphics was very mindful of our time constraints and budget concerns and provided an excellent work product, which we believe contributed to our ultimate success in the arbitration proceeding. Of note is RaptorGraphics understanding that it is in the business of providing a service to its clients and we were very pleased with their prompt return of phone calls and close contact throughout the project to insure that our needs and concerns were addressed.
