Steve Fisher Testimonial "To whom it may concern: My name is Steven B. Fisher. I am a principle in the firm FISHER KANARIS, P.C., a nationally recognized litigation firm specializing in large property loss recovery, otherwise known as “subrogation.” I have been associated with RaptorGraphics since 1995 and cannot say enough about the value their services “bring to the table” in complex litigation matters. As I have learned the hard way, you can have the greatest case in the world; however, if the jury fails to understand and fully appreciate what the case is all about, you will lose! With the help of RaptorGraphics, we have been able to simplify complex theories by creating a true-to-life picture that the jury can experience and feel in the courtroom. Virtual walk-throughs of the loss location have allowed the jury to actually see where a fire has occurred and how it progressed from inception to “flashover.” In product liability cases, we have used animation to visually dissect the instrumentality at issue before the jury’s eyes, ultimately focusing on the component or part that has failed. With the aid of computer graphics, concepts in the abstract become reality - right before the jury’s eyes. I have personally seen RaptorGraphics in action on multiple occasions. Their fieldwork is unparalleled. Any demonstrative aid or exhibit is only as good as the underlying data used to create it. I can recall watching Raptor personnel painstakingly documenting the hull of a 383’ seafood-processing vessel for nearly a week. Each and every structural member was measured and recorded. In the end, the hull of the vessel was recreated digitally so as to allow the jurors to see exactly where the fire originated. As a litigator, I know all to well that jurors these days expect to be entertained. To them, “L.A. Law” is the norm. Digital animation not only allows the litigator to explain his case in a straight-forward and illustrative manner, but further, it provides the “entertainment” one needs to keep the jurors at the edge of their seats - waiting for what comes next! In cases where the scene has been virtually destroyed, RaptorGraphics has been successful at digitally recreating what a catastrophe has taken away. Through witness interviews, artifact analysis and intuition, they have allowed us to depict the scene as we desire it to be depicted. Graphic images have been created and used in pre-trial discovery with great success. In the end, witnesses and counsel alike have all but adopted the depiction as presented without even knowing they have. These images, once authenticated, are then used throughout the litigation as “evidence” to work up the case. Graphic images are then provided to model makers who are able to create three-dimensional exhibits for use in deposition and trial. Full-Scale Fire Testing and Fire Modeling can later be incorporated into and made part of the digital model. The accuracy of the data acquired at the onset serves as the foundational support for future admission into evidence. What Raptor has brought to the table goes far beyond artistic talent. Its engineers fully analyze the case overall and have worked with us to actually understand not only what has occurred but, just as important, how it has occurred. By digitally re-creating scenarios and situations, we along with our experts have been able ferret out fact from fiction. We have been able to visually experience what is plausible and what is not. In our experience, cases are won and lost by driving home to one’s opponent that you and your client are willing to “go to the party.” When we present graphic illustrations to our opponents, we send a message, that being that we are prepared and ready for trial. The psychological effect of seeing what we will be showing the jury has fostered prompt resolution time and time again. We would highly recommend RaptorGraphics for all complex litigation matters. Their experienced staff is dependable, personable and cognizant of what it means to work on a budget. They work with you, not for you so as to achieve the desired result. I have found that no case is too big or too small. Every case benefits when Raptor is involved. Should you have any questions or comments, please feel free to let us know." -- Steve Fisher, FISHER KANARIS P.C. Chicago, Illinois |
